A group of young people (aged 19 - 30) from asylum seeker, refugee and migrant backgrounds who meet to explore their creativity and creative ambitions.
The group was founded and is mentored by Shannon Ghannam and me. The programme is supported by a partnership between De La Warr Pavilion, The Magnum Photos Foundation and The Peter Marlow Foundation and The Refugee Buddy Project. Phase One ran from January - June 23 with Phase Two running from January - June 24.
The group have had two exhibitions at De La Warr Pavilion. On 19 June 2023, the Collective opened their Studio to visitors to display their work and launched a mural, led by artist Abraham.O in the rooftop foyer. Their works explored the collective theme of 'Compassion'. The following year on 20 June 2020 they opened their second exhibition with painting, photography and audience engagement works that were developed around the theme of 'Home'.
